Most Disliked
Some diners are disappointed that Goldyburgers only accepts cash, although an ATM is available on-site. This cash-only policy may deter those used to card payments.
The menu, while featuring solid burger options, could leave some desiring more variety in cheeses or additional gourmet options.
I’ve heard opinions regarding the prices, as some consider them slightly on the higher side for a burger joint. However, many also suggest that the quality justifies the cost. Lastly, for those who prefer a fine dining experience, the use of paper plates might not appeal, but for most patrons seeking a relaxed atmosphere, it adds to the charm.

If you want a great burger run, don’t walk to Goldyburger. This place is conveniently located right off Circle Ave/ Franklin in Forest Park. It’s pretty walkable from downtown Oak Park and if you live in the area or just visiting this place can’t be missed. They only take cash, but have an ATM onsite. The ambiance is classic vintage Irish pub. The classic metal pedestal bar stools are flanked around a wooden wrap around bar. The wooden booths and the checkered table cloths leave you to imagine the history and all the folks that have crossed its threshold in its 99th year. It’s the neighborhood bar you can come inside and stay a while. There is so much history on the walls with Irish blessings, cheesy sport memorabilia and vintage beer decor. It all starts when you walk in the door under the Old Style marquee. There is an intimate enclosed outdoor courtyard with picnic tables and a flat screen TV. While we didn’t eat it outside, it would be the perfect gathering with friends or a small get-to-gether. The menu is small and simple, food is served on plastic baskets and paper plates. The burger was juicy, hot and full of flavor. Make sure you have a pile of napkins, because you’re gonna need it. The fries and onion rings which we had as an appetizer were perfectly crispy and hot. When you have a taste for onion rings look no further, because they hit the spot. My husband had the chicken sandwich which was equally juicy and grilled to perfection. The beer was ice cold and service was fast and efficient. If fine china is important to you, this isn’t the place for you. If you’re looking for a vintage Irish pub off the beaten path with good burgers and cold beer look no further! The food is good, the service is better, minus the fine china. We will be back, but next time our spot will be flanked at the bar getting to know the locals!

Tasty burgers, cold beers, good times. Almost a century old, Goldyburgers is a classic dive bar time capsule with layers of worn in charm. The food is good, very hot and fresh, always made to order. Royal burger was great, I’m already looking forward to the next one.

I’ve been meaning to go here for quite some time and finally made it! Burgers are good, beers are cold and our service was very kind. As others have stated, this is a dive bar, but I loved that everyone was speaking at a respectful level, it wasn’t crazy loud and our server was very attentive. Remember to bring cash, but if you forget, ATM on site.

It's a dive bar. A little... Or a lot pricey. But it was really good. My burger was obviously not a frozen patty and tasted on par if not better than portillo's. I do wish they had more kinds of cheese than just cheddar balls. Our waitress/bartender was awesome. I love the decoration they have there. It has a scent when you walk in. Not a bad odor, just a smell that comes from having a bar/restaurant that's been open a really long time through maybe many societal shifts. That's actually a reassuring smell to me. It means they're honest and good enough to withstand time, COVID, politics, and tax changes. More people should support this place by giving them their custom. We should all want places like this to prosper and stay in business. This is a flavor of Chicagoland I personally would hate to lose.

I've heard about this place for years and finally popped in here after shooting pool nearby at Circle Lanes. It did not disappoint. Plenty of visual attractions along the walls and TVs and the Goldyburger and fries were as epic as advertised. A terrific 99-year-old institution!

One of my absolute favorite neighborhood spots. The patio has a bunch of outdoor seating (and shade!) and their olive burger can't be beat. I also believe their wings are gluten free (breaded in cornstarch), but I haven't had them in a while, so they might have changed. Cash only, but there's an atm, and I'd suggest stopping at Beacon Pub across the street afterwards or the bowling alley right around the corner!

I was not expecting their burger to be so good like it was really REALLY good. Wherever Goldyburgers sources their patties must treat the cows like kings!
